New to Lake Norman
I am new to the Lake Norman area and would like to find out more details about the lake and meet some new people. Where are the major area to hang and have a few "cold ones"? Look forward to the warm weather.

By water & by land The Rusty Rudder & Vinnies are your top two spots! The Rudder is at exit 28 off I-77 but you better get there early if you are going by boat. A few others would be North Lake Harbor (exit 30) or Midtown Sundries (also @ exit 28)
Hanging out on the water I'd say it's the "Sandbar" but there are plenty of good spots depending on how wild or mild you are in search of!
I know both Swede & Barry! Good people. In fact Barry & I are headed to Tampa to p/u my boat & his interior next weekend.
We have a local performance boating club you ought to check out. www.carolinapowerboat.com

NASCAT, thanks for the info. I am coming from Lake Cumberland, and speaking of wild, July 4th at 76 Falls is something to experience!! How about Poker Runs in the area? Look forward to perhaps meeting you.

I moved to Hebron (also work related) about 3-4 years ago.
Been boatless since I got here, unless you count the 19' wellcraft that is sitting in the backyard and will never run again...
I'm trying to remedy the boatless situation - soon, very soon.
Good luck with the new gig, and hope you like Charlotte, it's a pretty cool city.

Race RPM- It's a nice place. We just moved as well (8 months ago). Bought a house on the lake and are finally moving in next week! I have a new boat on order and looking forward to getting settled in. Overall love it here. One of the best freshwater spots I've been to yet.

Lake Norman is a good place to boat. Many restaurants and party places. Give us a call and come by and dock with us and we can give you some lake info.

We have a lot of boaters who hang out and we have several club runs during the year.
