Race Boat set-up question

For the guys racing offshore, do you carry weight in the nose of your race boats, and if so how much. thanks

Weight in the nose will dramatically slow you down. Go with a water filled ballast tank if they are legal. Fill it in a head sea and dump it when you run with the seas.

Before the new lower hp motors, all the Big skaters ran about 200lb of lead in the front.

Warren, In F1 we have added weight to the bow, cockpit and stern. It's all about finding the right place to put the weight and how comfortable you are with the boats characteristics. In the APBA Factory classes you cannot use ballast tanks, although they would be nice.
As to the weight we have used 15-40 lbs, depending on the course conditions, I have seen more used in other boats.
Hope this helps, if it's a pleasure boat try to re-arrange it's contents,I have done that in the past with good results.
