What to use for Engine Oil
 
I have a 502 Blown BBC just wondering what you guys ues and recomande for oil. I have been using straigh 40 weight in my 454 330h.p. Stinger but this is a totally differant animal so any help would be great

me to , theres a long thread about oil from a yr or two ago I am using mobil 15 50 sync now, I hear the royal purple is good to but $$. I was thinking about a sync 40 or 50 straight weight. since turning 5800rpms. ART

I turned my blower motor 6200 and always used Mobil 1 15 50. Never had a problem. I also used to run the same oil in my 500hp. Royal Purple is a considerable amount more $ to use and have not tried it. If it is better please tell me why?

like you and I said its more money for R P . if its better I don't know I just recall seeing that and red line on a thread awhile ago. but like you I have been happy with 15 50 m1:D .one of these days I will hook up a temp gauge and with new oil cooler with a therm, in it to see where its at. SS I will call you today its 1130am. I might go on a road trip to see knot rights skater at mill motors. art
