Hey I think JJ has an extra set of gears when he changed ratios also. They are like new in the pic if he still has em.

Well now I'm a believer on turbines,I always liked them I just didn't know enough about them until you guys educated me. I'm kicking around the idea of a 55 MTI with a enclosed canopy if he'll make me one with at least 2500hp aside. I think it would be a good package.

If you need a better idea of what 2500hp a side is gonna take to make happen... call me anytime. Toll Free 866-790-7702

This is my boat. LTS-101, 750 hp. 27' Daytona that I built for the lake. Nothing like it. Different feel from piston boat, but that isn't bad.

Shaft drive is without a doubt going to be more reliable than turning your thrust line a couple of times to get to the prop. You should look at Mike Sages #8 drive. Takes power through like an Arneson, steers like a #6 and trims in true x dimention. www.scsgearbox.com What is your experience with the Sage drive? How many installs have you done with it? Any failures? How is the response compared to a merc 6. |

How fast does the eliminator run? How do u stop and go? Gear reduction? It has the engine brake on it like the gentleman said in the above post. If you look at the pics. the switch on the side of the shift lever engages and disengages the brake so you can shift from forward to reverse. As far as the gear resuction, I don't really know what it is but it is redused to what a normal piston boat would rev to so I can run normal props. My installation was done by MTT, Ted McIntyre. And the engine is a Lycoming LTS-101. |
Lostinboston,
No practical experience yet myself although they are on boats that are out there... anyone else have the hands on report?? Got a set going on our next boat. Based upon the design spec and having had my hands on this set now in the shop to examine in great detail I am so far very impressed with their construction. The set we have here, apparently had a few upgrades since the original ones were built and we are very excited to be using them on this build. |
Rocketboat, Tell me the highlights of the 50 Nor Tech with sage drives that the guy just put up forsale on OSO.
