Post Boat Insurance on a cat

I am thinking about moving up to a 28 skater and I find that most insurance companies will not insure cats.. Can anyone with a cat recommend an insurance company and give me an idea of the $$$ for the premium???

Alot goes into the figure for insurance. 1st is the value of the boat and/or trailer. Limits on liability and your driving record. And the size of boat the insurance rep has...
I have been told #1 on the bad boys list is Eliminator, then Skater, then Spectre and American Offshore and so on. Of corse they won't let me see the "book". I pay 3100 a yr for 33 Daytona (2000) year.
But World Wide marine Underwriters gave me the best price when shopping. But I did not hit all of them. It gets tiring after awhile
Just my $.02

Markel American Ins. I pay $2800 for the year for 2000 30' Motion with O/B power. Be very careful and read the policy of what and who is covered. I am the only driver allowed to use the boat. Any other user has to be pre-approved. Tough screening process for driver abilty. Alcohol use/accident and null and void. Some of the Insurance companies would not cover trailing or if stolen from an unsecured (locked) parking lot. Makes it bit hard to go to a poker run with that rider on your ins. Pay to play.

Markel is one of the few companies that write for High Performance boats. and I mean few. The rest are brokers who are tweeners for the Ins Companies
