Being its off to the side ,maybe some crank flex , but you said the cap side looks good.

Maybe the crush of the bearing is off ?

Yeah the cap side looks really good. I belive the reason for it being off to the side some is because during detonation wouldn't there be more pressure on that area of the bearing due to the angle of downward pressure during rotation ??? Just a thought

Alot of different factors here.
What boost are you at?
Standard deck or raised deck? The longer the stroke the longer psi is put on the top pf the rod.
What type of rods? Forged, billet , H/ I-beam? Depends on how the force is distributed through the rod.
Type of crank? Is it flexing or is the material its made of soft?
Most of your big H.P. drag motors and long distance like NASCARR are actually small displacement engines.

To make a long story short - As far as boost goes this motor came out of a boat that I bought , ran it 1 time late in the season , started a restoration on & decided to pull the power & sell the hull due to the fact that I was in the process of buying another house & it just made sense for me at the time.
So I can't really speak for the boost.
Now I am completly going through the motor & it is going in my 28 Saber which will have an intercooled single centrifical V-4 on it. The motor is 511 cu" , Tall Deck 10.2 , 4.375" bore , Carillo H-beam rods , JE pistons , Chroma-Shaft 4.250 Crank. & like I said H series Clevites
