I have not seen the race schedule yet, but Purnell and I will both be involved again this year. If you are looking for hotel rooms I would advise to get them booked right away because the town is full of graduating seniors then and there will not be much left. The web site for the Atlantic Hotel (Purnell's place) is http://www.atlantichotelocmd.com/ and our web site is http://www.commanderhotel.com. The Atlantic Hotel is located at the south end of the course at turns one and two and we are at the start/finish line in the middle of the course. See the map below.

Here is the map from last year. As far as I know the course location is the same this year. I did not attend the last organizational meeting, but I have not heard otherwise.

For those of you looking to race or those that just want to see a rough water race, Ocean City usually delivers. The race teams from years past will vouch for that. Here is a picture of our Apache from the race here last year. We were only a pace boat, so you can imagine what the race boats were doing once they got up to speed.

:D I actually felt bad about that, but I was told to lead the pace lap at 55mph. Due to the conditions, I even double checked just before leaving the dock to head out. They said to keep it at 55 since I had the big boats following me out. So, 55 it was until race control called us and told us to slow down and let the race boats catch up. We were almost down off plane in turn 3 waiting for everybody to catch up and get lined up before going around turn 4 and heading down for the start. Sorry guys! I will put my own spotter in the boat this year to keep track of everybody.

Here are a few video shots from last year. My wife took these short clips with her digital camera from the main deck at the hotel. What a great day for a race!

This is the finish of the P5 race. Joker and Typhoon were going at it right up until the end! http://media.putfile.com/OPA-P5-Fini...cean-City-2006

This is Wanted and On The Chip doing battle. They were in different classes, but they sure put on a good show for the fans! http://media.putfile.com/WantedOn-Th...cean-City-2006

I think it is a Top Gun or an old 35' Cafe Racer, but I am not 100% sure.
