Hub or gearcase?

I was running wide open with a 1990 Johnson 200 2 stroke when all of a sudden the engine reved high and the propulsion stopped. I removed the prop and looked at the hub, but I could not tell if there is a problem or not.
When the engine is in gear (not running) I can spin the propeller fairly easily. Hub, or gear?

Also can anyone tell me the max rpm for this engine? Trimmed out I only get 3000.

probley your gear case . omc had some trouble with them take your prop off and put it in gear and spin the prop shaft with your hand should tell you if it's the gear or the prop.
