It's good to be anal with your boat but don't let it get in the way of having a good time. If you can't keep a boat in the water for a week - Give it Up!

Sitting for a week is different that leaving it in the water and using it every day. No problem if you use it.

Run mine from fl to the Abacos for 7-8 day trip each summer. No barnacles...and the hull is clean. 5 days in the water for the KEY WEST races each year, no problems. I keep my boat as new. Keep a watch out for the barnacles and wash the hull bottom each day with a brush. I remove, strip, and paint the drives and flaps each year.

maybe they make one or these big enough for your boat and then nothing will ever touch it!

Think about all the boats that do the Key West run each year and stay in the salt water for a week. They live. No doubt, you will have to spend time cleaning it afterwards, but it will be ok.

No. A weekend max, but not a week. It's especially bad if it's in the summer. Warm saltwater wreaks havoc quickly, and you'll be scraping barnacles for a week, if you do. In FL, you'll start seeing barnicle evidence at about the 2nd or 3rd day - after a week they've "cemented" on, and you're screwed.

Have to disagree, in the water for a week and using it periodically is no problem. Been in key west for a few days on runs and never had any problem. I nice coat of wax will certainly help prolong any problems.

Flush your motors with Saltaway after each run.

all the boats in the ftl boat show are in the water for at least 2 weeks!! It will be fine..Just make sure you have good zincs and good continuity. Beats leaving it at home
