I heard some where that a boat manufacture is going to offer free gas for a year with a new purchase.

A thought here since I am back in the market looking to purchase another boat.

I have become a bit concerned about the possbile law on emission standards (California) that if passed will impact our industry. It has me a bit hesitant of how engines may have to be reconfigured.

It actually has me more concerned than the fuel prices.

The performance boating industry is taking hits in many areas, high fuel prices, possible emission standards, speed limits.

By the way..........

As to the quote that few other performance boat manufacturers have not gone bankrupt during Fountain Powerboat's lifespan...... I submit the following for your review.

Skater.......... established at the same time as Fountain.

Eliminator....... older yet

Checkmate.......ditto

Baja......ditto

Bottom line....... Stockholders could care less about quotes, business conditions, the economy, Elvis comparisons, Ego, trash talking, records or race wins...... you can't spend any of that claptrap....and in this case...it produces no dividends.

it is no suprise that boat sells are down with all the stuff going on in the middleast and with big brother and his side-kick pals the oil company.it is a wonder people buy boats, let alone a performance one........they are killing our livelyhood and sport.

Brunswick owns both Baja and Mercury. As well as a bunch of other boatbuilders (sea ray, hatteras, bayliner, etc.)
