I've never been over that way, but with the winds not letting up over here and right now the forecasts are calling for 8 foot seas on Sat., I might want to get over that way. Don't know where a good boat ramp is though and I'm afraid that they'll be full by the time I would get there. (No one I know of in Orlando knows how to wake up before 10am on a Sat) It's at least a 90 minute drive for me.

Brock and I will be there! We're meeting up with Coleman and his group... you know them?

Unsane, the Ft. Desoto ramp is huge and well maintained and the best to use and closest to Eggmont. You will not encounter any rought seas going from Ft. Desoto to Eggmont as it is all inside. I might make it out so if you see a 38 center console Fountain all white wave me down.

I found the ramp on Google Earth. Pretty big. So parking shouldn't be a problem then? The ramp is about 2 hours from my house. I'm going to try to motivate some people on the getting up a little earlier part. The conditions are supposed to be much better as the winds are out of the east.

That ramp has unlimited parking, they open up a field and if you are willing to walk a bit (not too far) you can always find a spot to park.

Mar Vista on Longboat Key is not too far away. It's a local favorite. Great place, great docks, and the trip there can be made totally on the inside, if it's too rough.

Damn. Wish I could make it, but I've got a big weekend planned.
