Default Finally got out in our new boat.

Finally got the new boat wet after 6 months of drooling over it in my shop. I went out for 20 mimutes just to try prop sizes. Ended up running a 26 bravo1 on stock engine and mildly altered exhaust. Got 65-68mph GPS with 3 people and full tank.

Stay tuned……Wife thought boat was too slow and insisted I order a Whipple kit when we got back. Needless to say I did not have to be asked that twice. Hell must be freezing over that we actually agree. So I ordered the Whipple last week & took off my Ecm to reflash it accordingly.. Now the boat will be sitting again for a month or so until I get a chance to do the engine & whipple up right.. Jamie / Lakeside

Ed.. you got that right.. I still have not forgotten about the 35ZR. I think I ask about that just as much as another pair of shoes. LOL Kristin

Not currently. However I am fully aware of piston differences & tolerances.. (this is not my first Sc install ).. I know that forged pistons are ideal for all high HP applications including higher boost. However I am planning to run low boost (3-4 psi) and run the engine colder & little fatter on fuel.. The big thing on the stock 496 pistons is if you get them too hot, other than that they are not really the worst piston out there (despite alot of public belief) . The Hypertectic pistons just dont take as kindly to any detonation & higher temps from high boost levels. The forged pistons are more tolerant to the higher boost situations that have more heat & more possibility for detonation. Actually I have many Sc's in the field with numerous hours (years) on the clock with no issues, including a good many on non forged pistons (although as I said earlier, forged is better).. The fuel & spark set up is most important..

If I get time I will eventually go thoroughly thru the engine & do other mods as well. Like higher boost, forged pistons, heads, cam, etc..

Jamie / Lakeside
