Default Favorite Louisiana Boating Site

What is your favorite boating area/waterway in Louisiana.

I have always been facinated with boats from a young age. My first boat was a 17' bass boat with a Johnson 88 special used primarily for running up an down the Mermentau River to Lake Arthur.

My first offshore experience was on a 24' Grady White with twin 115 Hp Yamaha outboards. We went 65 miles out of freshwater bayou to a submerged rig structure that produced a enormous amount of different fish.

I am currently looking to buy a offshore boat, leaning on a 38' pleasure boat rather than a fishing.

One more question, In hot weather, are the interior cabins basically useless without an a/c? I can't see anyone in a cabin in summertime without a a/c. The grady had a small cabin, but was too hot to sit in, therefore wasted space.

I grew up on bayou Lacombe and it was always a nice place to boat not to many people to worry about and relaxing. You can alos get anywhere you want from the bayou.

I live in Slidell (Eden Isles) and I do most of my running in Lake Pontchartrain(when not to rough). I also run in the ICW between the Rigolets and the Industrial Canal, at which point you can shoot through the Seabrook Bridge and hit West End.

I've heard many stories about Neo Beach from my uncle and his friends.

We spend most of our time on the rivers around Lake Maurepas. Used to love to run across the big lake to New Orleans or Slidell, will be happy when they get everything rebuilt over there.
