I am very confident that the HTM 30 will do 150. I watched an SR24 do 131 on radar at the Richmond Radar Shootout with 1100HP. 1900HP and 6 more feet, at 150mph; NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.

If they are dumb enough to get into the boat at those speeds they deserve what ever happens to them.

On 01/09 Steve did 149.99 with twin blower motors.
565 ci
950 hp
7200 and ran out of prop
32 pitch
8 lbs. of boost
1.25 xr's
14% slip
Can a 950 hp motor with 1.25 gear turn a 32 pitch over 7200 r's???

Havasu Hangin, I couldn't agree with you more. I personally know Steve and his crew and they are like most of us. We enjoy the speed but respect it too. Steve has had a lot of experience in at boat at speed and can take care of himself. He is a married man with kids. He isn't going to throw that away.
Anything over a 100 is a different tune. Steve knows this and respects the dangers.

my question is this why do you need a big inch motor to turn 7200 rpm???i always thought big blocks were for torque and big hp at around 6000,i think it was for the motor to live!! i know alot of you guys do race, what do your race motors run rpm wise,i'm gonna guess not 7000+ rpm.i think it would be alot more impressive to make that kind of hp at a lower rpm,if you want to run that kind of rpm , use small blocks.also i think most would love to see if the 24 or the 30 would survive a certified kilo run,not a 1/4 mile pass.that htm post at hotboat is getting nasty
