Default 496HO with ProCharger

I'm currently looking at a boat powered by a 496HO with a Procharger. The install looks very clean and the boat is in great condition overall. I was wondering if anybody had any ups/downs and advice about these motors with a blower.
Any info is much appreciated!

Wink

Just my thoughts, run a compression check and leakdown test before buying. If anything is out of wack, be wary or discount package for a rebuild. If all is ok, buy the boat, remove the pro-charger sell it on E-bay and buy our BCK-103 kit and relax!

A similar discussion about how to spend $6,000 wisely on a 496 was just on here. When a Pro-Charger was mentioned, someone suggested that they should come with bottles of Aspirin for the headache that it creates. I know a lot of people have had good luck with those, but personally I'd probably never buy a boat with one unless the motor was built to handle it, then I still have to think about it a while.

what boat is it i know a guy with a pro charged 496 ho and only running about 3 lbs of boost and is holding up very well
i was told not to run a pro charger on my 7.4 that it wouldnt last
now im on my fourth season on it and over 500 hours and still running fine
so if it blows now i would expect that on a 7.4 with that many hours on it anyway

I think most of the time it really has to do with who's on the throttle!
