They should have a class set up for the ""iron men" boats no bigger than 30ft and stock merc(not racing mercs either ) powerplants(twin Merc496/425 max).

First established in 1911 as the “79 mile Long Beach to Catalina Island Challenge”. This was the first recorded Offshore race in the U.S. In the mid 60’S the race was adopted by POPRA founder Bob Nordskog and turn it into the Rum Run race. Now after many years we are proud to bring this race back during the Long Beach Sea Festival now know as the Long Beach Offshore Power fest.
This years Title sponsor is AMF Offshore racing. Come and watch boats up 51’ with 3700 hp and speeds up to 200MPH in the Harbor Long Beach.
