Hard To Beat A Good Ol 38 Scarab- Friend Had One With 502's With Some Minor Mods, It Would Run 70's All Day And Loved Rough Water.
If Stepps Are A Real Big Issue, Take A Look At Velocity-high Performance Without Stepps! |
Look at Sonic 38.

If Stepps Are A Real Big Issue, Take A Look At Velocity-high Performance Without Stepps! The big Velocity boats are a $ per mph bargain. You have to drive them though- the pad keel takes some getting used to and the ride slaps a little more. You won't roll one though. The hull construction is top notch but the rigging and finish isn't upper-echelon. |
a 38 sc fountain is the perfect boat for everything and used are priced resonably

Not to sidetrack the thread, but, tuffenuff, post a pic or two of your bananna! cool boat!

Look at the Donzi ZR series either the 35 or 38, both have advanced step hulls that drive with ease.
Go for some test drives and factory tours to get a feel for the quality of the manufacturer. |
I have never had an issue with my twin stepped hull. Seems pretty predictable. Gets on plane very easy. Again, just be responsible. The 38ZX has a large cabin plus a wider beam (9'3") which makes the cockpit area feel roomy also. And it still runs upper 70's. I agree - boats are not always easy to sell - do the research and buy what you want (like your going to keep it).

I was thinking a Donzi 38 ZX sounded like it would fit the bill.

Thanks for all of the responses. I always like to check out forums for advice/information on purchases. My budget is around 100k, I could go a little higher, but i would like to make a good purchase at this price. I may have to go down in size to get what i want at that price. There are so many used boats for sale, i am sure with enough searching i will find the right one.
I am taking all of your responses to mind in my search. Thanks, for all of the support. |
