Someone should mention that this boat was designed in CAD, and the plug CNC......all from Marks head, and as straight a boat as I have ever seen. All vacuum bagged, with infusion as an option!.

The difference between the twin outboard and I/O.
With the Merc 250s the power at 260hp or so, is about the same as the 525. The combined weight with the bracket of the twins is about the same as the 525. The balance is shifted back a little on the twin. Twin ran 90.1mph 525 first time out match that number ( bigger prop required ) The I/O should be faster because it does not have the drag of the extra gearcase in the water. How it runs, the twin stands up a little coming on plane, the I/O does not. The twin will out accelerate the I/O all through the mid. The I/O carves a turn like you won't believe. With the sound and the look the I/O steals the show. I would think you might gain a little speed with the engine hatch on too. This will defintely help with aerodynamics. DK |
RBT, no doubt this 28 is slick as hell, and constructioin is top notch. But this is a limited use 28 compared to other 28s on the market.

Stormrider, yes it is. It is a drivers boat, not a cuddy cabin. It is designed for one thing, performance!.

You can ask the class 6 guy's in OPA this past weekend what the stern looks like - haha. I have to razz RBT because he questioned my ability on how to build my boats. I did what I said we were going to do and the boat came out flawless. I like the Tuff 28 , I'm just a racer at heart and believe proving my products in the rough ocean / racing. |
