help with prop
 
can any one give me advice on a prop for my project boat,basically its a 27 foot deep v hull in which i have fitted a yanmar 440 6ly2 stp,and i have made my own fixed surface drive,ratio of the zf box is 1.23.1,the boat fully loaded weighs 2 tonne,any help at all would great,many thank,seamy.

I Dont Have A Shaft As Yet Was Trying To Keep My Options Open,do You Have Any Thoughts On It,unfortunately Im Fairly New To This,cheers.

I would use a 19 spline shaft. Same as Arneson #6. That would give you a wide selection of used surface drive props to choose from. The prop is the most important part of a successful set up. I would call John Rose at Ellis Propeller. He can make a new prop for around 1,500 bucks. I have a set on the way from him right now.

I ran fixed drives on my boat for years. It was very simple and rugged. Keep us updated on your project.

thanks a lot steve i certainly will,being in ireland the whole surface drive thing is pretty rare here,I would be happy with anything over 50mph would be fantastic infact wil post some pics if you like,many thanks again,seamy.
