Post 87 Hawk 511 info needed

Does anyone have any info on this engine. I believe I have two of these in my 87 Cafe Racer and wanted to find out more details about the engines.
Any info welcome.

I have the Hawk engine literature that came with the boat.

click here for a pic of the engine.

I remember seeing that picture YEARS ago...probably early to mid 80's or so. I also remember thinking; "WOAH!!!...511 cubic inches those things are HUGE!" and back then 511 cubes WERE considered as MONSTERS engines back then. Today I have a pair of 540's even those aren't much according to today's standards. I remember this guy had a 38'Cigarette called "Breakout" that he kept in Saugatuck, MI and he upgraded from 454's to a new pair of Hawk 511's with the Hardin P-1000 exhausts. It was one of the badest boats around at the time. Everyone just thought those engines were huge back then. I think they were around 500 or 525 horsepower or something like that. I remember everyone just tripping over themselves to try and get a look in the engine compartment when he had the hatch open while moored at the dock. Sure brings back a lot of memories.

NW, call Cigarette and ask for "Bud" he used to manage the "Hawk Marine" engine building shop years ago and now I guess he works for Cigarette...give them a call and I think they'll at least point you in the right direction.
