My kids tubed behind the Stinger last summer and had a blast with the huge wake. My oldest wants try wakebaording behind it as soon as it's back together. He can't wait to try to fly off those 3-4 ft rollers at wakeboarding speed I'm setting up a small Baja ('87 174 Sunsport) for that stuff and hope to have that wet before this year is gone though.

I use my 30' Eliminator Eagle to pull the kids tubing and wakeboarding all the time at Lake Powell.

I use to ski and tube behind my dad's 1979 30' scarab all the time, & It had Twin 454's. Me and my friends were all pretty crazy kids though, and always signaled up for faster. We did challenges to see who could last longer with 2 tubes behind the boat, and My dad whipping us around with hairpin turns. It taught us how to tuck and roll real good, & I remember taking some painfull wipeouts daily! Good times!

i once (and the last time i will do that) tubed behind a 26' sport boat with a massaged 454.....the guy couldnt shake me off so he decided to make a full blast run down the river to scare me.....well i couldnt see anymore from the spray, and i dont know the exact mph....but he was cooking 60+ when he came around a bend and came upon another boat coming the opposite way.....couldnt slow down fast enough and i hit the oncoming wake and flew off the tube. Buddy on the boat said i flew an easy 50' before landing in the water......i hit upside down, backwards, neck first! Upon impact my entire right side of my body went numb!!! Like when your arm falls asleep during the night from sleeping on it!!! That was probably the single scariest moment i my life! The feeling started to come back almost instantly but i was so wiped out from the experience they had to literaly pull me out of the water by my life jacket cause i had NO streangth left........when i fully got back to normal i gave the driver a nice kidney punch to thank him for the ride

Either way, what boats could you do it with?
Is skiing in a basic form even possible?

I wouldn't have wanted to be behind my 24 bbc w/ as loud as it was.
The boat couldn't hold plane at tubing speeds(less than 22-25).
And i wouldn't want to put that stress on my drive(skiing at least).
Here's an idea.... Ski behind JC's boat with Cutris on the sticks!!

Apparently, it can be done behind a TS Top Gun with HP500EFIs:

Default No Problem

My 14 yr old daughter and her friend behind our TG. Both my daughters rode behind our CC Donzi when we lived on Puerto Rico all the time.

It's called the catalina ski race.

you think a 30-32 concept w/ 250merc obs would be more friendly than a 750hp io? i'm guessing it would absolutely be more friendly to the engines.

we would always pull the kids with our 28' check. had a 500hp worked great. we tried with the top gun but i can't keep the bow down to see. but after seeing bcschoe's pic's i may try it again.
