Trans temps ?
On a Borg warner trans C 72. Is the larger pipe plug where the press & temp senders should be ? what is normal temp ? If temp goes up is it too late (the damage is done) . what temp will be a sign that you might have the beginning of some trouble . thanks 1

nah... just 1 of those things in my head...
i am actually in the process of plumbing my engine and trans ...running -10 on the trans and put a 1/8 npt right before oil goes back in the trans ... figure , it's run it's course through the system and that would be a good place to check the pressure... if i'm wrong ....someone please correct me... |
Marc Bamm told pressure is more important than temp.. he told me to take the temp sensor out and use that port for pressure

I hear ya
I replaced all of my gauges and carbon fiber dash , Auto Meter marine only made trans temp 2 5/8 so thats what I went with. I called today , they dont make a marine press that goes up to 200 or 250 PSI . I picked up a mechanical oil filled gauge that I will screw into the trans , Better than nothing, Im always checkin under the hatch anyway !
thinkin of puttin a tee in so I can read both . what do you think ? Cant hurt . |

livorsi or stewart warner...i would think auto meter should make 1 , might not be marine , but ,so what...it's a boat...you always continue to spend!!

in witch hole would you put a pressure gauge in on that trans. the smaller one one the rear or the larger one i think you should have about 180 psi anyone know exactly?
