I don't see the value in the Optimas. I just buy an average battery and plan to replace it every two years. Unless you leave your batteries on a constant charge system, the winter sit seems to kill the life...

Look at Odessey batteries. DO NOT USE Optima, I have had nothing but problems and finally pulled them out.

If Mercury suggests 550 CCA for a 7.4L MPI and 650 CCA for a 502....what does a 1075 require to crank over?

Use the ones from the original Star Trek show........You remember????? When Scotty screamed "she's just gawt da battaries Captain!!!!" all the time? If they run a Starship until 50 past the hour (that's when he figured everything out and got warp drive back), then they should be good enough for 1075's

Seriously, I have heard a lot of bad things about Optimas and just bought some Exides myself...........no issues so far...
