Default Houston to Tahoe

Driving from Houston to Tahoe pulling a 330SS Formula 14+ feet tall on the trailer..... anybody have any suggestions as to the route, some one has said I45 to I40 but then we may have bridges to worry about going under and I10 seems longer.

Just wondering what people think.

thanks

are you sure it's 14'+?, my neighbours 330ss is just over 13' on a mcclain trailer. If it is 14+ you are going to have problems.

If you stay on the interstate, you should not have anything to worry about as far as height restrictions at 14'

I move heavy equipment, and on the interstate system, you should have 16' clearance(may be 18') on overpasses and bridges. The only thing you have to worry about is underpasses when you are off of the interstate, or on exit ramps. Some underpasses that go under the interstate are lower, some around here are as low as 13' 6"

The height of a 18 wheeler van trailer that you see on the interstate is 13'6", and they have a t least 2.5=3' clearance under the intrerstate overpasses.

I have hauled an oversize load at 15'8" from Baton Rouge to Lake Charles, and made it under the overpasses with ease. I tore down a large amount of low lying cable tv wires, and knocked a few traffic lights silly, but i made it.

AT 14', put the hammer down, and just pay attention to height warnings when off of the interstate!

I can think of one freeway bridge in Houston that is 14' and many surface road bridges under freeways that are 14' or less. Read the signs and good luck
