Bbc Vs. Egg Beaters

Lets say you have 2 of the exact same hull 25' V. One with a 415hp 502 and the other with twin 200 OB.

What would be the pros and cons of each boat and which would you rather.

YES i would miss the BB rumble.

The outboard boat would be just a bit faster I think, less of a headache to work on individually but you would have no rumble. Twin Mercs at 6000-6500 sound awesome too. The I/O would give you a sunpad, the other would give you more drinking room. The OB can get into shallower water.

The outboard would fly straight. It would be more fun to run.

I went to a 4 stroke EFI OB and I love it, it is so quiet you have to listen to the pisser to know it is running, it is a breeze to run, gets into 1ft of water and in the winter you treat the fuel and trim it down to drain it....all about 1 min of work. I say OBs, the fuel mileage will be worth the loss of noise. I loved the noise too, but I did get tired of it on the 45 min idle I had. For $2000 you can get silent choice to stop this but I still like the OB idea with todays fuel and maint costs.

I would take the outboard boat for all the reasons mentioned above.

If its not a CC or a cat, stick with the BBC. Something about the combo just doesnt seem natural.....IMO. Its your money.
