Pantera Was it orig BBC? what kind of speeds did it run?
They actually made a 300 and a 269 w/twin outboards. Was an option. Sure get back alot of cockpit space by doing that... Have you looked into the E-Tec engines by Evinrude? CHECK those out before you buy... TOTALLY impressive compared to Merc and Yamaha...

What do you plan to use the boat for?
Probably get good MPG with those OB's and Speed..

The sales brochure for 87 shows the 300 w/454's and alpha's as weighing 7000 dry. 165 gal fuel tank, Beer, People... will be over 8000 on the water.

I'm going to see if there is a way to transpose the Cobalt broshure from VHS to DVD and then to the'net. You would all get a kick out of it. Thanks agin for the 411 fastboat. You should post those bunny hopps for the others to see!

Rick actually started out with Bravo 3's on that boat. He now has Sportmaster 1" lowers & ITS boxes on it & it runs 70 on a really, really good day. I smoked him in my 29 Outlaw with 385hp 454's.
I boat with Rick at Tablerock pretty frequently & the 269 with BBC's in it is not a good combiantion in my opinion. It is too heavy in the ass to be agood rough water boat. The way Rick's is setup. It still has a cool factor to it just for what he has done to it. I like it overall, but it ain't my bag, so to speak.
My good friend the Reverend Tom owned Ricks boat & another at the same time. Tom's has the 350/alpha package & is a 55 mph boat.
The 300 would be a good boat for what you are intending to use it for, but I would spend my money on another boat.
