Boatless for now...
Gimble ring, someone please help!

I am posting this in here too as there is only a few people browsing in the tech section. I am in the middle of trying to pull my gimble ring right now and having more problems. I cut out access through the front using jrmarines method and got the top nut loosened as far as I could and it is now topped out against the top of the transom assembly. I got the bolt that runs through the steering arm loosened a little. Does this bolt have to come all the way out? Also, how do I actually get this thing out. Please give me some advice guys. I am new to this and now stuck. Thanks you very much.

i think you have to loosen the ubolt right below it so the square steering shaft can go down some to get the nut the rest of the way off should be two nuts.

Brandon= Have you removed the bottom pin, once the bottom if free you can move the lower side of the gimble around to loosen the upper swivel from the top of it. Then the top pin should fall.
