from 454 to 540's..good idea?
I found a set of motors that im "interested" in upgrading to. They are:
540 (8.7) LH 550 hp "Attack Dog"
Bullit Engine Builders start from scratch with a remanufactured GM 502 GEN VI block. A stroker forged nitrited steel crank is used with Eagle H-Beam connecting rods and J&E flat top pistons with Speed Pro plasma moly rings. World Products Merlin rectangular port heads with Manley stainless steel valves are used with Crane roller rocker valve train and Crane roller cam.
Clevite "77" are the bearings of choice.
Every engine is dyno tested and shipped with its own dyno sheet.
The "Attack Dog" produces 565 hp @ 5400 rpm and a whopping 638 ft/lbs @ 3600 rpm
This Baby will run all day on Pump Gas
For situations where 93 octane gas is available we can increase compression at no extra charge. This will increase horse power to 601 hp @ 5600 rpm and torque to
663 ft/lbs @ 3700 rpm.
This engine is also available with a Merlin block (add $850)

So is this a good upgrade for my boat or is it overkill. I dont want to price the boat COMPLETELY out of the market when i get ready to sell it so I thought these would be a good deal. know I will need to upgrade my steering to Hydraulic and probably install a different engine hatch or add scoops (which i planned on anyways) and change props. But are my freshly rebuilt Bravo 1's going to be able to hold up to this size of motor?
What else will be needed for the conversion?
ideas/input/saracasm, all appreciated. Im so on the fence about upgrading this fall or just selling and buying a different boat.

Looks like a damn good idea to me. The price is very reasonable and you will be able to sell off the motors you have now. Bravos will handle the power with a few upgrades, and good driving. A set of bigger props and she'll be ready to fly.

That sounds like the same engine 1800runsnew markets. I don't know much about the builder but I would do my homework before I bought them. I have read a few threads on here about bad experiences. There is a company called dynaflow that is alot closer to you and I think is in the same $$/HP

ya, these were actually 1800 runsnew motor. I BELIEVE they are only STOCKING the motor and not actually building them. I may be wrong. They used to carry a 622ci that I was going to inquire about but they no longer have it listed. What will be needed on the bravos to get them up to snuff for this upgrade. Also, I assume my corsa quick/quiet exhaust wont work for these, right? Ill have to upgrade to headers/exhaust. I want to make sure I do it all right the first time..
