Left dock lines in bucket, how do I get the stink out?
I soaked my dock lines in a bucket of water/Salt Away last week since they had spent some time in the salt water. Problem is I forgot about 'em until today.
I won't have access to a boat store until Sunday morning, when I want to go out again. What can I use from around the house to soak them to get the mold/mildew/stink out? |
Buy new one's
Now you have a spare set.. |
if they are white, bleach them. if they are colored, leave them in the bucket and add in some laundry detergent, let them soak a bit.
|
Like MC said bleach them! 1 cup bleach per 4 gal water! my colored ones I run thru the washer and dryer, come out real clean and smelling nice...............
|
Put them in a mesh laundry bag and run them through the wasing machine.

Not trying to steal the post, but since we are on cleaning here......has anyone tried invisible glass?? I use it on my floor, spray it on and wipe it down. I also use it on the insides and to do the seats when they need a spot cleaning. So far it hasn't killed my wax like some of the tough cleaners do, it works good. 3M also has a new leather conditioner in a spray bottle that really works well also, 3M Leather/vinyl conditioner.

Washer & Dryer will work perfect!
I will have my New, made for the Marine world, Vinyl/Leather Cleaner & Conditioner ready to go in September. Check my website for updates. :cool-smiley-011: Donnie |
MC, I was looking at your stuff the other day on here. Let us know when you get the conditioner up and going. I hate armor all..........so I'll try it. The 3M gave it a great lustre, but didn't smear up the fiberglass and didn't run off with water either.

Will do other MC. :D
I should be making a post next week. Donnie |
