IF, as was stated by raymond there was a short fall of 4 boats minus the one who paid but did not run, then a donation of $44,000.00 should still be made and the tax receipts distributed as above OR the $2000.00 should be returned to each entrant along with a pre addressed envelope for the winner's chosen charity.

JMHO
Agreed 100%

Dont want to debate PRA profit and loss. None of my business.

Just want to have what was saiid HAPPEN and get off this thread.
Seems like huge numbers to me too but I havent seen a small number associated with this hobby of ours since I got into it.

The frustrating part is how long this is taking to rectify.

The charity didnt get 50k, but they got something ( ??)after a bunch of prodding.

And that kind of event never happened again.

The whole issue had an effect on future attendance at PRA events in Canada, which it should have.

Pleased to let people on here know that THE PERFORMANCE BOAT CLUB OF CANADA which is heavily supported by my friends at Double R Performance raised $80,000.00 in 2011 for various local charities.

Come on - Stiffing a charity is like taking money out of the plate at church.
I guess a few years and a founding member title changes ones perspective... jus sayin
