I was in Vegas the morning that happened. There seemed to be a huge amount of fighter jet traffic that early in the morning out of the air base there. This was around 6 am vegas time i believe. Then I saw a couple huge cargo planes leave with fighter escorts and figured then something was wrong. then the hotel evacuated the room because they were afraid of planes hitting the buildings downtown. My wife called in a panic cause she was at home in phoenix with our son wondering what to do. I cant remember the last time I was that scared and mad at the same time. Life sure changed that day.

I work for a Large Electrical Service Company in the Washington Metro Area, I had a 8AM meeting at the Small Business Admin. Building in SW Washington, I walked out of that building shortly after 9AM heading to my truck and saw people walking down the middle of the road on there cell phones.... I got in my truck, listening to the radio and heard what happened and headed across the Mall (SW into NW) on 3rd street with the Capitol to my right, There were fighter jets scrambling in the air and you couldnt tell if there were explosions or the jets in the air..... according to the radio, the Old Executive office building (next door to the White House) had been hit and the State Department had an explosion also.... We had I believe it was 22 Service Trucks in town that day and cell phones just didnt work, we all met at a Supply House and after everyone was accounted for we went home.....
Spent the rest of the evening watching CNN at my girlfriends house....

Default Never forget 343

I had just come on duty here in Orange Beach, sitting at the watch room desk doing the daily report, when my relief called and said "turn on the TV you're not going to belive what just happened". As we turned on Fox news the second plane was hitting. I wanted to throw up. The Chief called and said lock down the station and stand by. It was the worst day of my Professional Firefighter career.

Don't let today just be "a day", remember the Armed Forces, civillians, and Public Safety members who have died for us.

NEVER FORGET THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIFE SO OTHERS MAY LIVE.

I was at home and was a week or so from going back to college. My mother had the TV on and I happened to be sitting at the counter eating when I saw the first plane. That was bad enough but I was fairly speechless when the second one came crashing through. We had someone trying to fix our well pump and a man who wanted to purchase a lawn tractor we had for sale because my parents were moving back to FL. I couldn't even function from that point on.

I was on the way to my office in PA, working for Morgan Stanley at the time. I was listening to Howard Stern that morning and they were talking to his hair guy, Ralph. Meaningless banter by Howard about how he ruined a sure-thing that he could have had with Pamela Anderson.

While they were talking on the phone, Ralph said that a small plane hit one of the towers. I got to my office and they were reporting that it was a commercial jet. A few minutes later we watched the 2nd plane hit.

My firm had the top 40 floors in the south tower and we lost 13 people that day out of around 3,000. Could have been much worse were it not for our head of security, Rick Rescorla - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Rescorla.

Called my parents, who were helping me move, and told them to turn on the TV. Then I drove back home to be with them.

I was supposed to be there that day for training at WTC, but since I had been there the two months' prior (7/11 and 8/11, coincidentally), I decided a week earlier to cancel my trip because I had too much work to do at home.

Driving down my driveway just getting on the road listening to Bob & Tom and they were talking about the first crash. Right then the second plane hit the other tower as they announced it, sent chills down my spine hearing it. I can remember it like it was yesterday.
