Post Garmin GPS updates?

Is it the downloadable updates the makes the changes to the basemaps that installs new roads? What about the Mapsourse CD's? If so, seems like there would be updates every week.

I have a Garmin GPS MAP 295, the pilot version. I also upload Mapsource into the removable chip.

Works well, but some of the business, resturant, gas station & other info is somewhat inacurate, but not too bad.

Overall I'm very happy. I travel all over the US and Canada & it has been a great help.

I have a Garmin Map 182 that is supposed to be one of their latest updated user friendly versions. I'm still learnig how to use it. It has some very nice and useful features. One of them being that it shows your speed in large font numbers that are easy to see.

I have the 162 and R&R's CD, just don't know how new roads get installed. The updates seem only to be with the operations of the units, not the mapping.
