Question Superbowl broadcasted in high def.?

I have been trying to find out if the Superbowl will be broadcasted in high definition. I checked superbowl.com but no info. except that Fox Sports will be broadcasting the game.

Any info. would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Details are still shaky as to the true brodcast that it will be in. They are nuts if they do not. There will be some seriously pissed off people that are used to watching it in HDTV for the last three years. They will no doubt do a upconverted NTSC at minimum but we are having trouble picking up the signal now as they stoped broadcasting in the Boston area to work on the towers. They are back up and running but at a VERY low power. Time will tell but it will be disapointing if they do not.

Thanks much why wait & Audiofn. I spoke with my audio guy today regarding receiving the HD signal for the bowl game. He quoted me $1600.00 to make it happen but was uncertain if it was going to be broadcasted in HD. Obviously if there is no signal no need to spend the dough.

How did you here about the info in your post?

Also, if you here any updated news please let me know.

Thanks much

Joeyoffshore. Why so much? The reciever is btwn 400 and 800 bucks, the antenna is another 100 tops, wire will be about 100-200 if you go high end. Istall yourself or have them do it but that does seem a little high. How far are you from the towers? If you go to Google the search engine and type in HDTV in Illinios then you will likely find a couple of forums that will let you know about HDTV broadcasts in your area. Fox is broadcasting Upgraded NTSC in Boston. We are I think #4 or #5 market in the country so we are a little bit ahead of some markets. The upgraded NTSC although not as good as true HDTV is still a HUGE improvement over regular broadcast signals. Try and see if you can get 720p into your set as that will give the leaste amount of motion artifacts.
