Filling Up Fuel Tank Before Winter Storage
Who does it?
|
They say with the new fuels its best to get as much fuel out of the tank as possible------this is the new thinking as this fuel breaks down in 30-60 days
|
Thats correct! With the new E-10 fuels you want to get as much fuel out of the boat as possible.

use startron for the ethenol problem and a good fuel stor

if the boat is stored outside and covered, (engines winterized) wouldnt the tank build up condensation if empty?
|
Just dump in some stabil and let it ride, use the correct ratio on mixing it and you should not have any problem. I have a car here that I haven't put any fuel in for almost two years now, I can go out right now and it starts like a new one...........one day its gonna backfire on me though, I have got to burn that gas out and add some new. Stabil works really well. It made a believer out of me.

I was told marina gas does not contain ethanol. So if anything, put the good stuff in over winter.
In the past I've wintered at 1/4 - 1/2 tank, (against advice on condensation) then put fresh gas in spring, thinking it would blend & dilute bad. Have not decided if I should fill up at marina, or try & empty this yr. |
Marinas on our area have ethanol gas.......I now store near empty.
