Default 1999 Formula 382

I have never owned a "Go Fast" boat but am going to look at a 1999 Formula 382. Any advice would be appreciated

Yes, a survey. These are great boats, solid, great looking, quality and ........solid. They may be a little heavy and not the fastest with like power but it will go plenty fast and crush waves. Just make sure you get a survey and find a friend who knows performance boats and go over it inch by inch. If the boat passes mustard you will enjoy it very much. They may cost a little more than some but you get what you pay for and these are worth the extra coin. I know lots of people with Formulas and they are all happy.

Spend a little up front on a good surveyer and save a lot on the back end with big problems. They are great boats.

Best of luck,
JB

Take someone who has experience and drive the piss out of it on the sea trial and have engines checked by marine mechanic. Most of the problems you will see on this site stem from mechanicals and not structural and accesory related that most out of water surveys find.

Mke sure you can afford a little extrra money every month for the little stuff so you can keep up with it and then have lots of fun.

You'll get hooked like the rest of us.
