If you think the regular 215 rxp was cool wait until the new RXP-X 255 hp hits the water in 08, talk about quick, your arms will be a few inches longer after riding it..
The new yammi FX-SHO is 220 hp, and the pre-production model does 66 mph stock. The new sea-doo RXP-X and RXT-X are 255 hp and will be the quickest out of the hole and have a top end right around 70.. My ultra 250 did 67.5 stock, with a Riva ride plate it hit 69.4. The hull on the SHO is the same at previous year 160hp H.O.'s, the topside is different. The ultra 250 is a rough water chop monster and nothing from yammi or sea-bomb will touch it when the water get bumpy and chop over about 1 foot, the hook-up and rough water capability leads all other manufacturers.. For 08 the sea-doo X-series ski's are going to lead the pack in acceleration and top-end, the Kawi 250 will still be the rough water champ and gas guzzling champ, the yammi should be a good comprimise of speed, fuel effeciency and ride comfort.

My other fast boat is a heavily modded Yamaha 1300R. I have more set up time in that than I do my Fountain. I just hit 80.0 GPS last weekend. what a rush! It took several years of trial and error to get there, though. I only run it at that speed very early in the morning.

I agree 100% with you on this, almost every riverside home and boat owner around here owns 1 or more pwc's.

We see plenty of morons in boats every weekend from Memorial day to Labor day. I can guarantee you that the locals look forward to labor day every year.

HOLY CRAP. When I started it up, it sounded like my old GSXR idling out of the cove to open water. When you hit the throttle, that thing rockets like like a GSXR with a wheelie bar. I could not believe how hard that thing takes off and pulls all the way to 70mph. The speed limiter was still installed on this one; but winter mods included a new impeller and new computer sans speed limiter.

When I rode/raced a 135HP Polaris years ago; I had no idea that these things would evolve to this in relatively stock form. That Sea-Doo RXP was one of the sickest things I have ever been on/in. Clipping along at close to top speed spanning little 6-8" chop, it would literally exponentially leap forward each time hit caught enough water to fill the pump. That thing was just unreal, and I really did not feel a need to go faster than 65/70ish.
The cool thing about the SeeDooRXP is the quality of the ride, neither one of my jetboats even came close. I am considering getting one but am not sure if CanAm has addressed the reliability issues with the supercharger yet.

I have a 03GTX, 05 RXT and 07 RXT no issues with supercharger on any of them and they are ridden a lot by frineds and family. I personally did not like the Kaw which I did test before I bought my third RXT. Yamaha make a solid ski but until now performance not even close.

Boaters in all shapes and sizes can be idiots. Someotimes people who can affort a $400k boat can even be more dangerous than the rest.

The 08 sea-bombs have metal super-charger clutch washers replacing the cearmic, that are know to fail. When they do fail all sea-doo pays for is to clean the screen and replace them with original ceramic, the shards left inside the motor score the oil pump shafts causing the motor to seize. To fix it correctly the motor needs to be pulled, torn down and oil pumps replaced if scored... 07 seemed to be the worst year for cearmic washer failure, my buddies 07 failed w/ 4 hours on it, had it fixed and with 8 hours on it the super-charger went BOOM ...

If you think the rxp's ride is all that great, try a Kawi ultra 250, the ride is outstanding in rough choppy water...

1999 was the last good year for the ULTRA..mine ran 67 with 2 peeps and 13 gals of fuel and pulled like an animal and would handle water better then any other ski on the water at that time

1999 was the FIRST year for the ultra 150, 2005 was the last. The only difference was the early 99's required 15.00 special NGK plugs because of the ignition. I still have an 03 150, I traded my 99 for an 07 ultra 250. There is absolutely no comparison in the ride of the 150 compared to the 250, night and day...
