U.S. COAST GUARD Directive...Kayak Race/Brunch Run

BRUNCH RUN Directives…by the U.S. Coast Guard, New York.

We have been notified by the Coast Guard that the Annual Mayor’s Cup Kayak Race around Manhattan will be taking place this Sunday, Oct 14 from 8 am to 4 pm. Each Kayak (Olympians from around the world) will each have a safety boat with each of them.
We have been instructed to come off-plane and proceed at minimal speed/wake, to grant them “right-of-way”, and not “rock their boat”. Please observe this directive because they will be watching us from the satellites above.
They have further requested that we take the easterly side of Roosevelt Island while transiting south to the lower basin instead of using the East River/westerly side of Roosevelt Island…to avoid encountering any kayakers racing on the East River.

Once we reach the lower basin/intersection of the Hudson River and the East River, we will rest/wait 10 minutes for our friends from New Jersey to join us before we proceed North up the Hudson, under the George Washington Bridge, and return on the Harlem River. Please also observe the “no-wake” zones for each of the 15 bridges/supports on the Harlem River…they’ll be watching from the satellites. We’ll have plenty of time/room to go fast on the balance of the trip up Long Island Sound.

Recap: Meet at 12 noon at Buoy 27A on Sunday, Oct. 14th off of Port Washington on Long Island Sound; travel south under the Throggs Neck Bridge, Whitestone Bridge, down the East River on the easterly side of Roosevelt Island; Stop and take a 10 minute break at the Lower basin/intersection of the Hudson River and East River…then proceed North up the Hudson River and return to Long Island Sound via the Harlem River. We then go to Lamotta’s Restaurant/Manhasset Bay Marina for Brunch.

The PACEBOAT will be CORPORATECARS.COM, Bob Kolenberg's 38 Fountain with 4-300 HP Mercs…that goes 90 mph! Follow me when in doubt. I will fly the American Flag and be on VHF 78.

That Marina appears to be in the middle of the Atlantic:D There is somthing wrong with your Longitude.

40 50'04.19"N, 73 42'18.97"W would put you outside the marina (according to Google Earth):drink: (water side that is)

Lat: 40 degrees 50' 25" N

...and if that doesn't work...follow me first to the dock, then to the bathroom, and then on to the bar, mate.

Not much of a marina if they dont know that you can not have more than 60 seconds of arc in a minute. Their numbers are wrong. Mine are close:D
