Default Received Hot Boat press release

I don't post here, but I thought you guys would find some interest in this.

I am the Executive Director of the Lake Havasu Marine Association, hence why I received this.

Lake Havasu City, AZ, October 9, 2007:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

As of August 15, 2007 Darrin Davidson of Halson Media Group purchased Hot Boat Magazine.

There is a lot of excitement with the new talent joining the Hot Boat Team. Darrin Davidson is the new Editor in Chief, he brings over 20 years experience. Russ Nyland from Sea Tow has been appointed National Sales Director. Steve Warner from Trucking Magazine will be the new Production Consultant. Morgan Milosevich will assume the Managing Editor role, she brings with her over 6 years experience in the industry. Bob Brown is our new Editor at Large, He brings with him over 35 years experience. Lane Duranti with over 8 years experience has joined the team as Art Director.

The DRIVING TEAM:
First up is Alexi Sahagian, owner and founder of Boostpower USA, established in 1990 specializing in custom EFI engines, drives and powertrain setups. Alexi’s extensive background in offshore racing, performance boat rigging, design and marine specialty engines dates back to the early 90’s. Alexi brings significant credentials to the performance team and has been a test driver for Hot Boat Magazine since 2005. A respected veteran, Alexi holds a number of World, Divisional and National Championships in several sanctioned racing bodies such as, Pacific Offshore, APBA, OSO and more. When Alexi isn’t behind the wheel of a 150mph performance poker run boat, dialing in a customers boat or one of his many race boats, he can be secretly found testing away in his Engine Dynamometer Laboratory at his Newbury Park, California based Boostpower USA facility. Alexi brings experience coupled with technical knowledge to the team.

Our second lead test driver is no stranger to the pages of Hot Boat Magazine. Bob Brown, a leading advocate of marine safety, and has been involved in the performance marine industry for 35 years. He is the former Contributing and Executive Editor of Powerboat Magazine, and Senior Editor/Test driver at Hot Boat Magazine for 15 years. Bob’s background includes racing at the highest levels of competition including offshore, marathon, water skiing, drag, inboard circle and outboard classes. He is a three-time winner of the Catalina Water Ski Race, five-time winner of the Sport Class offshore champion of the Pacific Offshore Power Boat Racing Association, and a member of the 150 MPH Club of NDBA. Bob continues to serve 15 years running as a board member of the Southern California Marine Association (SCMA). As the owner of a highly successful advertising agency specializing in the marine industry, Media Direction, Bob’s company offers one stop shopping for any marine companies advertising and marketing needs. Bob was instrumental in the founding of Hot Boat Magazine annual performance trials so the return to the East Coast is a welcome challenge.

Finally, our other lead test driver is a very familiar name to the world of high performance marine driving. Tres Martin, owner of Tres Martin Performance Boat School has been involved in the marine industry almost from the time he was born. Having worked at numerous performance oriented marinas, Tres’s started racing professionally in 1988 eventually winning the World Championship. In 1989 Tres was the youngest throttleman to win a World Championship and the winning streak continues today. Labeled the Iron Man of Offshore, Tres has won more than 66-checkered flags, four National and four World Championship Titles from Factory Class to Superboat. A member of the APBA Hall of Fame Champions, Tres has always been in the Top Three in National Lever points. As the owner and founder of Martin Offshore, the performance marine driving school was seen as a necessity for today’s ultra fast poker running crowd. Tres saw the need to educate, and evaluate each driver’s style and skill set for the true performance boat enthusiast who likes to make their machines perform at the highest levels.

We are looking forward to taking Hot Boat Magazine to a higher level. Larger formats along with full color pages are just a couple of the changes coming January 08’.

So Larry Flynt no longer owns Hot Boat? Does that mean no more pretty models?

Intresting column in the front of the Mag about the Larry Flynt days. Had to be pretty bizzare place to work.
I've been a Hot Boat reader for many years, some as a subscriber some just when I see it on a news stand.

Sounds like it can only get better.

The latest issue was already an improvment. You must read the opening editorial, it is an eye opener.

Maybe Tres will finally distribute some of his boating safety wisdom. I wish he would write a book or something.
