my memory may be failing but I thought at one time we had a diy area

I would call the forum "How To"

Thsi would be for common maintennece item like Wallys write up on impellor changing and things of that nature

Things like removing a drive replacing bellows and the like would be easily indexed there.

I did a complete hydraulic steering install and would gladly post that with pics into a section

And Mark is right, also just because someone has a business, it doesn't mean they are worth a nickle, I have seen do it yourselfers do amazing things. Howard Aeneson was a do it his selfer and didn't like the status quo of mercury. I think he hit a home run!!! God only know's where the next wonderful idea will come from. Great idea

Good idea. I'm all for it. Case in pont my posts and threads about HP boost and $'s. I just made an internal stearing tie bar for about $18.
Yours truly.. a must DIY'er.

Ditto on OSO members being welcoming of all powerboaters, regardless of budget. There seems to be a "If it gets you on the water...." attitude.

Ditto on a section for "How to". I'd limit it to pictorials or instructions on completing projects. There are many threads that could easily fit in the new sections, and it would nice to move them into it. Maybe all new threads should start in the tech sections, and moderators decided when they are worth entering the How to section, and move them in there at that point. FAQ's could be there also, or in a related sections. Leave the technical questions for the current tech sections.

Lastly, the depth of tech knowledge on OSO is amazing. It's one of the things that makes OSO the gem it is.

Ok we did have a How To section a while back and it was closed for lack of use.

Here is the best idea, someone please find the "how to" type of threads and click the report to a moderator button. In the explanation say "should be moved to new how to section"

This will direct me right to the threads you refer to as I do not have the time to search for them.

Based on the 7 years of experince running this site I must say I agree with Chris Sunkin, but I will try the new section and if there is lack of use we can revert it back. If it turns in to a use part for sale section we will address that also.

As far as the liberry and 3 pic problem please start new threads in the Forum Usage section clearly explaining the perceived problems and I will address them. It is extrememly hard to follow some of your points with little info.
