86 formula 272 prop help ?
 
Is there any 272 owners that can help not sure what prop i should buy . my boat has twin merc 350's 260 hp stock with alapha drives it runs toped out 49 mph at 3900 is this right or what should i do they are also not ss props thanks.

My 85 272 would run 60 at 4800 RPM with cleavers. You have too much prop or your motors are tired. Also Formula had a performance option that had a higher than normal X height. The early 83-84 models had a fairly big rocker in the hull. Check on the Formula forum.

do you remember what size dia the props were and what pitch? thanks

Run cleavers. I have them on my 85 Formula 272 LS. 60 MPH.
23" pitch.

I would also try A pair of 21 Mirages Or 23 Mirage. My 87 272 would spin the 21's:D 5000 but i lost 4 mph I ran the 23's Spun them 4500 @59.99999 my cruse was 40 at 3200.

My cleavers were 21 pitch. The bravos need to be 3 blade.

is there only on dia for these alpha drives or what dia should i use with 23 pich clevers

23 is too much pitch. You need 21 pitch. Contact Julie at Throttle Up. They advertize on here.
