Speaking of the "scientist" Reggie, here's Fountain's compendium of revolutionary advancements to the state-of-the-art in marine desigh, courtesy of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office...

One patent. For a muffler.

Enjoy the reading!

Saber is made in a 41 mold. McManus will build you a new Apache if you beg and give him a huge amount of cash.

If you look at the Avanti deck and hull almost identical to the AT. Some interior and winshield areas are slightly different.
AT's have hatch in the middle, Avantis on sides.
Even the instrument panel mold is the same.
I don't know who cloned who, but I like AT's and Avantis, so no matter. (and Hustlers, Cigs. Nortechs, Formulas. and a few others. lol) THis Avanti is pretty well shot to hell, due to a car/boat accident a few weeks ago. Just before KW. I have yet to finalize ins. issues, then who knows what my options will be, so I'm glued to this thread to see the comments about the rides.
Sorry to hear about your AVanti.What year is it?Our 27 is a 185 built like a brick s h i t house.

Ohh ya When the 388 Hustler raced F2 it was unbeatable.Rough or calm there still some of the fastest vees out there

But you'd have to get new fillings in your teeth after the race and a good supply of dramamine fore the bobbing and chine-to-chine moves!

Most definitely a "purpose built" boat!

He seems to take an order every three or four years. He's got that 50 in the mold now. If you don't mind a delivery date around 2012....

That shot, right at :59, is why Apache's are the undisputed gods of rough water.

Watching the vid, the boat seemed to like to drop its bow when flying. Is there a ballast tank forward?
