Hey, I wasn't real sure where to post this..Does anyone have any experience with blueprintengines marine engines? Their 496 marine 460hp 515torque model in particular. Thanks

Looks like they are ok for a family boat repower, but I dont know about a perf boat.. Looks like an econo engine with all cast internals from the literature on them that I have seen.. JMO.. :) Jamie / Lakeside

I think Blueprint motors are sold by Jeg's if I'm not mistaken....

That one doesnt look as bad.. I didnt see that one last time I looked at thier info. It does still asy cast steel crank though even though it does say forged rods & pistons.. That said I cant tell you haw they really are in the industry as I dont use them. We do our own engines.. I do believe some of the other stuff that they have though is all cast or mainly cast & hypertctic, if my memory is correct.. Also who knows what their assmbly quality & dyno is really like??

In my opinion there is a reason that there is a price difference between that of the builders here with a good reputation & a catalogue order engine/company.. Usually there is a difference in quality & care of assmbly & tuning etcc..
