I've seen unlimited hydros run on worse than that.

1985, Grand Haven MI. Copeland in the 50' Popeye's Cougar, Gentry in the 48' wooden Cougar he bought from Arneson. Both 4 engine superboats at over 16K/lbs each. Copeland won with an average speed of 56 MPH. The boats would go so deep into troughs that they'd disappear from sight. We had to come in and watch from the beach- it was so rough that waves coming over the transom were swamping a 40' Viking. That's rough-water racing.

Or this...

This is gonna' be a quick one. Paint touchup should be done before Christmas. Engines are already being assembled. Konrads are probably going to be on it by the end of January and the engine compartment NEEDS to be done by then. The Gil manifolds left yesterday for stripping and new powdercoat.

Just have to make some final decisions on cockpit interior and off it goes. I should be able to float it at my buddy's marina for the trailer re-do about the time the ice leaves the lake.

Going to work is over-rated anyway

Hey DT, I HAVE owned a Cig and a Fountain. I think I have made my point on which one I prefer.

I could buy another soon enough, but I am holding out for an MTI so it will be a little longer on the saving.
