Seems like I was around for all the stuff on 188th. Ted Theodoli took me for a ride in one of the first, it was a V-drive, but was still impressive. I have been involved with Magnum for a long time, when I had my Champion Marine rigging shop of Ives Dairy rd. in Miami I subcontracted to rig the 27` Magnums. They were always impressed with my shops and custom rigging I did. Katrin actually used to write for Forza 7 magazine in Italy back in the early 70`s, and she wrote a beautiful article about me and my rigging facility. I always modeled my shops after Roger Penske`s. Painted floors, Oak top work benches, snap on tools, and Rockwell machinery, all the best, and all fully A/C`d.
Currently I am available to handle all USA sales for Magnum, as a courtesy from KT, that`s why I said if anyone wants to buy a Magnum they can deal direct with me, and I will oversee the entire build to delivery.

Can't resist adding my 2c ..
I remember the first published test on the 53 ... It was a flyingbridge with open cockpit into the covered salon.. It was a blue hull with white bottom and had two of the then new DD16V diesels .. in inboard or V drive (can't quite recall) It was a LONG time ago !
I still remember some of the things the magazine testers said ... I would guess that it was a long time before they were back to normal ..

I was on the 1st 53 built. It was a test run, possibly the first run on the boat, at most the 2nd.
Was at the plant and Ted invited us out... must have been 1977/78. The cabin was unfinished, just bulkheads. The engine hatches were removed, for ventilation. No seats... just a dozen guys standing.
It was very cool, and still one of my strongest memories.
I apologize for all the chicks i popped, but they were topped!

Ah the good old days.......I had a nice lightweight 38 with gas engines in it...... that was fast for a boat that size in those days..late 70's.
The classic look of the 38 Magnum paired with the classic look of the 24 banana boat.....bloodlines for sure.

Also was around for the first 53, that is shot of it acting as a committee boat for a Bacardi race in Miami. The first 63 is shown tied up at a dock near the Black Pearl in Newport.
Ted called me when he was delivering the first 63 in Newport RI. We all went out to watch the America's Cup sailing races aboard the boat.
That other boat is a Don Shead design for the Aga Kahn that was shipped over for the Cup races.
