Kryptonite boats

From what I was told, the 27 was its own design. The Kryptonite has an 8' beam while the Superboats are 7'. The 29' is a 27 w/ an integrated swim platform, and the 23' is a plugged version of the 27. I believe the 39' was also its own design as was the 36. I had been to the old plant a few times before and after I bought my 29 and I remember one time seeing the brand new mold for the 36'.
The 23,27 and 29 all have a single step and a notched transom. The 39 had multiple steps and a notch and the 36 was a straight bottom w/ notch.
I still would like to see a 39 sit down with a stretched 29' deck on it.
I don't like the lines of the 39' deck.

The 39 came from a 41 Apache mold and Kirk made an insert for the steps. That mold came from the left coast and had only 1 piece pulled from it...and that boat is in LOTO now. Anyone care to guess which boat it is?

Sean you are correct. The mold came from a modified plug making the mold itself unique to Kryptonite. I assumed you meant it was a stretched mold, sorry. I am going off my memory from about four years ago so bear with me

I've always liked the 23' Kirk made. He built one with a cut down deck that looked really cool. The 23 even had a small cabin in the regular version. I'll try and find some pics. With a bracket on the back and an O/B, it was a very functional little rig.

Kirk builds a great boat and the record of the Typhoon racing team shows it. It is no secret that Kirk once worked for John at Superboat. I was told that the 27 Kryptonit is a 21 Superboat from where the step begins forward. Either way it was always a great performer and still is today.
