I use to race stand-ups about 5 years ago. They are a blast to ride once you get the hang of it. I had a modifed Kawi 750 sxi.
If I was looking for one I would either buy a used Super Jet or 750 SXi. The 750 sxi is a little easier to ride for novice riders but the super jet has better reliability.
Hope this helps

DUDE ! Is that an old Jeff Jacobs raceboat??? Same paint scheme he used to run...Perfomance Jet Ski... THAT brings back some memories! I've been riding standups since I was 11 years old (33 now) and to me there IS no other personal watercraft. I've been on a 72 mph full-race factory Yamaha sitdown and got bored...standups are WAAAAY more fun.
I've got a 1990 550SX with the motor out of it right now, and a modded-out 750SX.

I've got a 750 SXi and there is no way I'd sell it! I hadn't been on it for a couple of seasons but got it back out this summer, what a blast. Go for it.

I raced Stand Ups back in the day. Had a mod Superjet 701. The Superjet = THE BEST!! I bought mine new in 94. In 2000 I sold it to a friend and it still runs like new to this day. Go with a Yamaha, you'll be happy!
