Great pictures but not from Lake Superior.

My bad. I assumed the source was correct. I guess they are not Lake Superior. Anyway the water can really kick up on the great lakes.

We ran from Duluth to Bayfield Wi.( roughly 70miles)
and back in 98', had such a good time we decided to do
it again in 99', except, stay a couple of days in
Bayfield/ Lapointe.

This was 4th of july weekend, we again had a blast,
but we needed to get back to Duluth, lets just say the conditions weren't as beautiful as it was when we came.

Once we got out of the Apostle Islands, on to the main
lake, we were greeted with 6' rollers and heavy fog.

We seemed to be driving into a never ending cloud,
for what felt like hours.

When we got about 13 miles from Duluth, we drove
out of the fog, saw the Ore Docks, and proceeded
back to the marina.

Once we were back at the docks, a couple of the locals
stopped by to b.s.

They asked if we've been over to Bayfield ?

We said "yes."

They said "when did you go ?"

We said " we just got back from there"

They said "by boat ?" ( they were assuming we
drove our vehicles over there)

We said "yes"

They said "you're crazy....... people up here don't
even do that"

We just smiled, (and were thankful to be back:eek:)

I have to say, the fog freaked me out more than the
rough water.

Could not see the picks - puter on the fritz. But I spent many years on Lake Erie. Very shallow and can get quite nasty. Why do you think I'm a Cig. / Apache fan?!

Was the fog anything like this? :D That's the Aerial Lift Bridge in Duluth, on a nice March day. The shot was taken from up on Skyline Drive I believe, up on the hill there. :cool-smiley-011:
