Good point. Actually, when it's not on plane, you can't.

My bad. Didn't enlarge pic. A 502 switch to 525 presented me with that problem. It only left me with about 3" of flex pipe between tip and pipe.Exhaust was off a inch or two.

Your external flappers are clamped on to a very short SS exhaust tip.Take one of the flappers off and you'll see what we are talking about.

Do it anyways. Makes the transom look better. We did it on our old Fountain, actually changed the pitch of the exhaust a little and made for a cleaner look.

With the internal flappers they generally run $80-90 each, times 4, plus shipping or tax, plus whatever other crap you need and didn't think of. I figured $500 was a pretty decent number. Do you think I'm high or low?

Tips I'm looking at are used for about $100 for all 4.

I've got four brand new, never used or installed, 4' tips with flappers I am not using. I'll sell them for $150 if you are interested.

Make sure they have an internal flapper in the tips, preferably one made from SS not rubber.
