i am not a brand-loyal freak, actually almost bougt a 27zx but it had twins and i needed single engine.... just making couple of points.....

No problem, there is more than one good boat out there these days.. Like I said ya gotta go with what you like & are comfy with..

BTW: I think you mean 28zx, that step hull had/has twins as a rule (2 small blocks were the norm, or once in a great while you would see the single engine bbc in it instead) .... The 27zx (no longer made & no steps) & 27zr (currently made & step bottom) are single engine boats..

The 28zx I had 1999 model had a sng. 502 whippled BB 700hp
bout 75 mph and yes the bravo one held together. Had 150 hrs on it when I sold it and bought my 320 Velocity. My Velocity will get up around 140 mph during a good dream.

Anyone else think that Clay needs to start a school similar to Tres Martin's Performance Boating School? Maybe Clay Washington's Principles of Sunpad Maximization? Maybe Cig could give away a free class with every new boat purchase!

Actually they did make a 27ZX with steps. Not twins though.

The 27Zx step hull was campaigned in F-1

thought it was a 27 but guess not cause definently stepped and twin small blocks..... nice boat though, lots of room for a go fast
