The markers are in better shape than they have been for a while, both the TPA and some TOPPS boats make a run up here a couple of times a year, there are a couple of areas that need local knowledge. So running with someone who knows is always a good idea.

33 Miles from the Turtle Club to Banana Bend

It's about half way between the I-10 bridge and the Lake Houston dam.

Most of the channel is 12-18' deep from I-10 past Banana Bend and up to the railroad bridge just north of the new Hwy 90 bridge. At that point it can be as shallow as 3-4' for about half a mile then good and deep from there up to the dam.

There are several beaches an island and 3 bars accessible from the river.

Only way past the dam is by trailer

That looks like a lot of fun. Might be worth a trip later this year. I assume the crowds get pretty big along the beaches in the summer?

BM22 Sent both engines to ateco, one for a full rebuild,I think he threw a rod.
Louie's was fixed under warranty from what i heard.

Nothing like blowing an engine in front of a barge coming at you full speedOr having your chit catch fire and don't have a fire ext.
We started with 6 boats and only 2 made it under full power.
